GUIDE TO VOICEBANK VERSION CODES

Neo - Voicebanks under the "neo" moniker are Major Updates to previous voicebanks that feature a complete re-recording of the voicebank samples, new features and new pitches.
1.x - A voicebank's 1.x version code denotes that it is a Minor Update of its core append. This features new extras, oto.ini fixes and fixes to samples with issues. The voicebank is not re-recorded on the whole. Note: The 1.x version of a VB is not specified on this website. It is only used on VB downloads and release videos so as to make file management easier for those who downloaded previous versions of a VB.
Roman Numerals (ex: II) - Roman numerals denote a Major Update that does not feature a complete re-recording of a voicebank's core. This features new pitches, extras, or expressions that are too major to fit under the "1.x" label, but do not belong under the "Neo" label due to NOT being completely new voicebanks meant to supplant a previous VB. They're still the same VB as before, just with a LOT more.

SCORPION neo
Bold. Brash. I forgot the rest of the quote.

BANK TYPE: VCV Multipitch (A3/C4/F4/A4/C5)
RANGE: D3~C6
EXTRAS: Glottal stops, vocal fry, end exhales, inhales, exhale + inhale, beginning exhales, beginning inhales, beginning exhale + inhale, English R, Trilled Rs, English V, English L, unvoiced dental fricative (like in thing, or in thought), voiced dental fricative (like in this, or in them), Fu/Hu distinction (ふ is an anglicized "f" sound wheras ほぅ is closer to standard Japanese pronunciation), and an art folder.

SCORPION neo is a strong, shouty voicebank with a mature feminine timbre in an alto/mezzo-soprano vocal range. She is kire-like in tone, with a dark, androgynous, mid-strength lower range, and a bright, shouty, feminine upper register. She is fairly versatile genre-wise, and lends herself best to pop, rock, metal, or anything that requires a fair amount of energy. She requires a bit of a heavy hand while tuning, responding best to more dramatic tuning, but is overall fairly easy to use. This is considered Arachne's default Japanese voicebank, and this tone is used as the default expression in her English and French voicebanks.

RECLUSE neo
Sweet and airy, almost like cotton candy.

BANK TYPE: VCV Multipitch (A3/C4/F4/A4/C5/E5 Falsetto)
RANGE: E3~C6
EXTRAS: Same as SCORPION neo, however her A4, C5, and E5 pitches do not have vocal fry support.

RECLUSE neo is a sweet, voicebank of medium-soft strength, with a cuter timbre, though she does still sound more mature than a traditional "cute" vocal. RECLUSE neo has a mezzo-soprano vocal range, though she's at her best in her midrange and upper register as she is recorded in a more "head-voice" tone. Her mid-to-low range has very little air, and her upper register is much more breathy and delicate, her faletto register in particular being incredibly delicate sounding. She works best for pop, bossa nova, soft rock, synthpop, and lo-fi. She is fairly responsive to tuning, and responds well to both dramatic and subtle tuning. This tone is marked as "Sweet" in Arachne's English and French voicebanks, or as "Soft" in older versions of her English voicebank.

TARANTULA
Versatile, expressive, clear, and put together with love.

BANK TYPE: VCCV English Multipitch-Multiexpression (A3/A3S/D4/D4S/F4/F4S)
RANGE: D3~F5, E3~G5 (Sweet)
EXTRAS: Full VV, Canadian Raising, beginning inhales, ending exhales, glottal stops, vocal fry, dark Ls, ng blends, literally being a 6 pitch English bank, and an art folder.

TARANTULA is Arachne's English voicebank. Using CZ's VCCV list, as well as a variety of extras for expression, utility, and to support her Canadian accent to create a bank that is compatible with pre-existing tools and files in the community, but has plenty of tools for tinkerers and tuners. Not to mention that she's sporting two tripitch expressions, with plans for more. Suffice it to say, TARANTULA is a powerful tool in the arsenal of any UTAU user who wishes to work with the English language. Her strong/default expression is the same tone as that of SCORPION neo, and and her sweet is the same as that of RECLUSE neo, meaning that the 3 voicebanks synergize fairly well together. Arachne's English pronunciation is clear, consistent and natural - I have worked tirelessly to ensure that Arachne's accent is as close to my natural accent as possible and that her oto is clean and smooth. This bank is very easy to tune and work with for newcomers and veterans of VCCV alike. She has a mezzo-soprano/alto range and works well for pop, rock, new wave, metal, synthpop, electronic, and more.

WIDOW
Overcome with emotion, you have decided hair dye is superior to therapy.

BANK TYPE: VCV Multipitch (A3/C4/F4)
RANGE: D3~E5
EXTRAS: Same as SCORPION neo, as WIDOW recieved an update after release for feature parity with her other Japanese banks.

WIDOW is a dark, brooding, mournful voicebank. Her lower register is fairly gentle, though her upper register does have a decent amount of strength. This makes her able to tackle slower, more somber songs, as well as more up-tempo pop with a darker edge. WIDOW has an alto/mezzo soprano vocal range. She generally has a richer timbre here than in her other appends, allowing for more subtle tuning, though she does still respond quite well to dramatic tuning. She works best for ballads, dark pop, progressive pop, electrionic, ambient and soft rock. This tone is marked as "Dark" in Arachne's French bank, and work to add it to her English bank is underway.

SOLPUGID
Unhinged, sour, full of attitude, and quite possibly a linguistic abomination

BANK TYPE: VCV Multipitch (A3/C4/F4/B4)
RANGE: D3~E5
EXTRAS: Same as SCORPION neo, but vocal fry is not supported in the B4 pitch.

SOLPUGID is, admittedly, a strange voicebank. She's set apart from Arachne's other voicebanks due to the way her tone and accent were achieved: pronouncing Japanese vowels as though they were French nasal vowels. She is a vivid, bright, nasally, light power voicebank with very little air. She has a cuter, more youthful, timbre than Arachne's other powerful voicebank, SCORPION neo but she still has a fairly mature tone. SOLPUGID has a mezzo-soprano vocal range. She works best for rock, vkei, metal, pop, or anything where an annoying vocalist might actually be desirable for some reason. She's quite responsive when it comes to tuning, so she can be a little sensitive when it comes to larger pitchbends or fast vibrato, but she usually will respond to these things quite well. Due to the more experimental approach to her tone, this bank is not planned to have an equivalent tone in Arachne's English or French voicebanks.

SALTICIDAE
Ethereal, light, and fleeting.

BANK TYPE: VCV Multipitch (A3/C4/F4)
RANGE: F3~D5
EXTRAS: Same as SCORPION neo.

SALTICIDAE is a whisper voicebank that isn't particularly sweet or dark in tone. Arachne's very breathy and has a mature tone to her, and is incredibly expressive in this VB, even without tuning. She's a little tough to find songs for, but she's a joy to use once you find one. She sounds great without tuning, but if tuned, she is incredibly easy to work with and very responsive. She has a mezzo-soprano range and is best suited for soft pop, art pop, ambient music, lo-fi, or anything where a very soft, breathy vocal works best. This tone is marked as "Whisper" in Arachne's French bank, and work to add it to her English bank is underway.
